Midnight Streak is an annual, USATF-certified 5-K run for the arts hosted by City Arts Center, organized by OK Runner and timed by DG Productions. Our reggae-inspired theme for the 2012 Midnight Streak is “Cool-er Runnings,” based on the 1990s comedy Cool Runnings about the Jamaican bobsled team.

Midnight Streak is a festive, family-friendly fundraiser featuring live music by local reggae/ska band Sunny Side Up, star gazing, glow-in-the-dark arts activities for the young and young-at-heart, and Jared Fogle will be in attendance to announce winners of the 3rd annual Subway® restaurants OKC Weight Loss Challenge.

More than 1,000 runners participated last year, including social runners as well as serious racers. Last year’s overall winner was Dustin Mettler, a 21-year-old from Duncan with a time of 15:31.

Registration is $30, and includes a “cool” Dri-Fit T-shirt.

Proceeds support City Arts Center’s mission to encourage artistic expression in all its forms through education and exhibitions and help keep arts exhibitions in the Eleanor Kirkpatrick Gallery free to the public year-round.
