    We will be kicking off 2026 by joining the Greater OKC Parks and Trail Foundation's FIRST DAY WALK 2026.  While this is a walk, you are welcome to run as many of us will be running - especially if it is cold!!!  The walk portion will be narrated by a National Park Service Ranger.  The event is free for everyone. 


    We encourage you to share your pictures on social media and help others get motivated. Don’t forget to use #Landrunners 

    Start - Scissortail Park - We'll start from the Great Lawn main stage located at OKC Blvd and Robinson. Free street parking and in the lots north of Scissortail Park. Spark Cafe opens @ 11am if you want to purchase a drink or meal after your walk/run.

    Running Etiquette - Remember that we are sharing the road and the trails with others. We want them to be courteous to us, so we, in turn need to be courteous and respectful and not "hog" the road or the trails. Obey all traffic signs, use the cross walks and sidewalks when available. Before our first training run we ask that everyone refresh yourself on Running Etiquette summarized in this attachment. Running Etiquette

    Let’s kick off OKC Memorial Marathon training with the Landrunners! Whether you’re a first‑timer, a seasoned marathoner, or someone who just wants free coffee, you’re welcome. Bring friends, bring energy, bring your favorite running socks.

    Location

    First Church
    131 NW 4th St, OKC

    Our committee will be around before and after the run to answer questions, calm nerves, and drink coffee with you. Bring a treat if you’re feeling generous.

    Course

    • 3 Miles: A scenic loop featuring the Memorial, Scissortail, and the Skydance Bridge — perfect for warming up your legs and your excuses.
    • 6 Miles: Same as above, plus a bonus trip north on Robinson to NW 23rd because you’re an overachiever and training for the marathon.

    We’re excited to join the 2026 OKC Memorial Marathon Kickoff Run. Here’s everything you need to know for both groups:

    ✨ Half Marathoners – 4 Miles

    • Meet Time: 7:45 AM - Start: 8:00am
    • Start Location: OKC Memorial Survivor Tree (NW 5th & Robinson)
    • Route: Follow the OKC Memorial 5K course
    • Finish: The Jones Assembly (901 W Sheridan) for the Memorial Kickoff Party where you’ll find food, drinks and participating training groups with tips for how to train for your okcMarathon event.

    Marathoners – 8 Miles

    • Announcements: 7:05 AM
    • Start Time: 7:10 AM
    • Start Location: West side of Scissortail Park by Social Capital

      • Run 4 miles before the main kickoff
      • Join the 8:00 AM start at the OKC Memorial Survivor Tree
      • Follow the OKC Memorial 5K course
