Race Series Criteria and Application (effective for 2024)
Required-
- Use best practices for a fun and safe event
- Timed event with published online results
- Course must be clearly marked or marshaled
- Water stops with sufficient supplies and volunteers
- Restroom facilities provided
- Donate $50 (If you event is Free, we may consider waving)
You will get a website calendar listing with a clickable link to your registration or website.
Social media post promoting your event to our 8,500+ Facebook, 1,200+ Instagram followers
Exposure to the largest non-profit (all volunteer) running club in Oklahoma with 600+ club members (any discount event codes are listed on a member only access section of our website)
We would like to do this for free but we do have expenses just like you. By donating via the link saves us the expense of having invoice you and waiting to receive the payment before we list your event which could be weeks instead of days.

Recommended-
- Offer a running club discount to our members
- Lead vehicle/bike with a thorough knowledge of the course
- A protected area for pre and post race activities in bad weather
- Food and drink at post race activities
- Five year age groups
- Overall male and female awards
- Runners like unique or practical awards more than generic medals
We prefer applications are submitted 30 days before your event. We will take applications up to your event but approval rate drops the longer you wait. The committee will then screen and present a list of recommended races to the Oklahoma City Running Club board of directors for approval.
