We will be serving burgers and hotdogs, voting for 2020 directors and hearing all about the Berlin Marathon.
Guest Speakers: Robin Garretson & Jeff Wagner
Robin Garretson: I love the space running occupies in my life, teaching me I am stronger than I think; pushing me to know my limits. It enables personal goals while providing a community in which I can contribute and collaborate. Running was not something to which I ever aspired in my youth; however, it proved a surprising panacea as “adulting” grew significantly stressful. I ran/walked my first marathon, 2004, reluctantly entering it only because someone else believed I could. I’ve run 18 since then, Berlin most recently, the third of six Abbott World Major Marathons. I aspire to complete all six, by 2020.
Jeff Wagner: I enjoy running as a stress reliever and allows me to get lost in my own thoughts. It all began shortly before retiring from the USAF as my oldest son started HS cross country. I ran my first half marathon in 2009 and my first OKCMM in 2010. I have completed 28 marathons in 17 states and 4 World Marathon Majors. I am a huge proponent of the Hanson's Marathon Method. Without it and the Landrunners, I would not have achieved the goals I set. I am a pacer with the Marathon Maniacs, Super Pacers, Red Coyote and the Dallas Running Club.
